Connections
was founded by Kristen DiCerbo, Ph.D. Her experiences have provided her
with a unique combination of perspectives that she brings to this work.
She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the
Arizona State University School Psychology Training Program. Through her
graduate career, she conducted research and published academic
papers in the areas of teaching critical thinking, reading
comprehension, and learning and assessment of English Language
Learners.
She then worked as a school psychologist in an elementary
school district. Through this experience she gained knowledge of not
only special education issues, but the systems of individual schools.
Following her time as a school psychologist, she moved into a
research position with the Cisco Learning Institute. In this position,
she conducts teaching and learning research in the context of the
Cisco Networking Academy. She investigates issues including blended
distance learning, simulations, teacher practices, teacher professional
development, and learning progressions. Because of the global nature of
the Cisco Networking Academy, she has conducted and presented
research around the world, in addition to collaborating with education
experts across the U.S.
For the past five years she has continued to teach the
Individual Intellectual Assessment course to Counseling and School
Ph.D. students at Arizona State University.
Her combination of academic, business, and local school
experience allows her to make connections between these different
arenas.
In
addition to Dr. DiCerbo's expertise, Connections works with a network
of other consultants whose services can be utilized as projects demand
them.
